Corporate Social Responsibility

An entrepreneur plays a vital role in the industry through creating jobs for the society and keeping the industry alive.  As a responsible entrepreneur, we strongly believe that we are required to set or follow industry best practices while having good business ethics and high integrity to do businesses, taking into account the interests of stakeholders.

Set or follow industry’s best practices

Being Greater China’s leading ICT service provider, we believe that providing quality services to ensure service stability and customer satisfaction of our corporate clients is crucial.  In view of this, we set up a team early in 2005 to focus on obtaining the industry’s best practices - ISO certifications.  Riding on our team’s effort over the past few years, we are now the first batch ICT service providers in Greater China to obtain ISO 27001:2013, ISO 20000:2011 and ISO 9001:2008 international certifications for information security, international IT service management as well as quality control respectively, demonstrating DYXnet’s commitment to offering premium information and communication technology with outstanding customer service.

Apart from obtaining ISO certifications, we also have committed service level agreement (SLA) on our service portfolios.  For example, we can guarantee our global networking (MPLS VPN service portfolios) to have 99.99% uptime.

Have good business ethics and high integrity to do businesses

Every entrepreneur aims at generating profits.  We only allow our salespersons to get sales contracts via legal channels. In DYXnet, we value much on the code of behavior and high integrity in our everyday operation. Apart from that, we provide trainings and company guidelines to ensure the staff follows local laws as well as company policies when doing businesses with outside parties.

Consider the interests of stakeholders

As a responsible entrepreneur, we also need to take into account the interests of the stakeholders that cover shareholders, management, employees, customers and society as a whole.

Shareholders

Shareholders are important to us as they provide funding for the company.  To earn their continuous support, it is crucial to let them know our business objectives, direction, core competence, competitive edges, sales forecast, turnover, challenges we will face and how we are going to tackle during the board meetings so that they can have a good grasp of the company’s latest move.

Management

The management team plays a vital role in supporting the company’s daily operation.  We set clear business objectives during the start of the financial year and assign different key performance indicators for each department so that they have a clear direction to follow.  We also have monthly review meetings with both frontline and backend support teams to let the whole management team have a better understand on the performance of each department, their coming action plans and what challenges / issues needed to be tackled and how.

Employees

Employees are the asset of the company.  We will try our best to ensure our staff enjoys the competitive compensations and benefits that are capable of raising their family and protect their finance.  To promote team coherence and morale of the company, we have a social club to organize different activities regularly for all staff and their families.

Customers

Customers are crucial to a company as they keep the company running and are the end users of the company’s products / services. It is important to understand customers’ needs and ensure they are satisfied with their subscribed services. To achieve this, we have orientation and on the job training programs to ensure our staff are well equipped and fully understand the company background, guidelines, internal procedures and updated market information when serving our customers.  Besides, we will base on the market intelligence to offer the best solutions with the industry’s best practices and competitive pricing to our clients.

Society

We believe in the proverb which says, “From Society, For Society". To contribute for the betterment of our society, we involve in different corporate social responsibility activities on a regular basis:

  • Volunteer to participate in Youth Business of Hong Kong

Lap Man, Founder & CEO of DYXnet Group, was invited to be one of the vetting panelists of Youth Business of Hong Kong, a business start-up program targeting the youngsters aged from 18 to 35. Apart from offering an interest-free business loan of up to HK$100,000, this program will also furnish the participants with business support, business mentorship and professional consultancy as well as information and local business networks. Lap Man has volunteered his time since 2013 to study the participants’ business plans, meet the participants and discuss with other vetting panelists on whether their plans are viable to obtain the interest-free loans.

  • Recruitment of disabled staff

Fear, prejudice and ignorance are some of the reasons why most of the employers do not consider hiring disabled people.  We believe that helping the disabled to integrate into the society is far more crucial than the minor adjustments needed to be made in the office. The experience of recruiting a visually impaired summer intern in 2013 was favorable.  Not only the summer intern brought along all his required equipment by himself, but he could also demonstrate his high level of knowledge of Chinese language and literature which gave us assistance to some projects. As such, visually impaired staff can be as capable as all people like us, which encourages DYXnet to continue to recruit disabled in the society.

  • DYXnet Made Concerted Effort to Support Charities at Dragon Boat Festival in Hong Kong and Taiwan 2012

DYXnet had participated in the charity dragon boat race and film reception in Hong Kong and Taiwan respectively on the day of Dragon Boat Festival on June 23, 2012 fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.

With a team consists of its frontline employees, their families and its business partners, DYXnet participated in the second "Family + Fish Charity Cup" for the first time. The race was organized by Aberdeen Dragon Boat Race Committee and held at Aberdeen Promenade Waterfront on June 23, 2012 in Hong Kong. By joining this event, the Group aims to increase employees' loyalty, enhance their families' recognition towards the Group and share a precious experience with its business partners through team cooperation.

All proceeds being raised from the Charity Cup will be used for purchasing fresh fishes for low-income families, sharing with them the happiness and the spirit of the Dragon Boat Festival.

On the same day, the Group organized a charity film reception of "Father's Lullaby" at Vie Show Cinemas in Taipei Hsin Yi. With a story background of 311 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the film is known as "Taiwan's No.1 Touching Movie" at Osaka Film Festival. As the film features scenes of children with rare diseases and domestic violence, the producer will donate a portion of its revenue to "The Pearl Buck Foundation", "Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders", "Taipei Women's Rescue Foundation" and other organizations.

DYXnet invited its customers and disadvantaged children to gather and watch this realistic touching film, hoping that the audience could experience Dragon Boat Festival in a new, cultural way.

  • Donation for School

Lap Man, our Founder & CEO, graduated from Hoi Ping Chamber of Commerce Secondary School.  Ever since then, he has maintained good relationship with some teachers and donated money to alma mater whenever they needed. In 2011, he figured out some of the alumni donation went to private tutoring for the students coming from those low-income families as well as for sponsorship on the inter-school athletics competition.   It is really encouraging to learn that those students who benefitted from private tutoring got good academic results and the school obtained third overall in inter-school athletics championship.

  • Offering Free Online Support Service to All Primary Schools in Hong Kong during H1NI Virus Attack

Threatened by H1N1 virus, all primary schools were immediately closed on 11 June 2009. In view of that, DYXnet responded quickly and showed its support to the community by providing of free online support service to all primary schools in Hong Kong; thus, teachers could host classes, through computers, that allowed all students to study home and kept close contact with schools.
